BMW ART CARS

One of the coolest exhibits around right now:
A free public art Installation featuring four BMW Art Cars by Frank Stella, Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein and Robert Rauschenberg and a project by contemporary artist Robin Rhode. is on display from March 25 through April 6, 2009 at NYC’s Grand Central Terminal’s Vanderbilt Hall.
This gives another meaning to “street art” and each BMW is meticulously painted in each artist’s iconic style.

There is a pretty cool “making of” video for this piece:

The display is kind of a look back at the past (the artists that were prominent in the 1970’s) and the present (BMW Z4 piece) and is a pretty awesome ode to the car company and the ability for art to exist…umm pretty much anywhere! Makes me want a Beemer now!
